The Bombers varsity boys basketball team grinded out a hard fought win at Canton Saturday night 40-37. The Bombers defense came to playholding the Little Giants to only 37 points, while the offense did enough to squeek out a win away from home.
The first quarter was dominated by the Bombers taking a quick 12-4 at the end of the first. Cameron Schultze came out and hit two big 3 pointers to get the offense going. But the second quarter was a different story, the offense stalled and defensively the intensity dropped. By the end of the 1st half the score Bombers leading 19-16.
The 3rd quarter was evenly matched as Ben Higgins showed up and led the Bombers offensive attack. As the 3rd quarter came to a close the Bombers lead was down to 1 point 30-29. But the Bombers clamped down in the 4th holding the Little Giants to only 8 points and offensively grinded out 10 points including big free throws from Cameron Shultze. The buzzer sounded with a Bombers win 40-37.
Cammeron Shultze lead the Bombers with 10 points and was the player of the game, Higgins came alive in the second half and ened up with 9 points. Overall 10 players scored for the Bombers and it was great to see them grind out a win in the 4th quarter.
