Illini West Weekly Schedule 9/9/19-9/14/19



As we move in to the bulk of the fall athletic schedule, things are beginning to ramp up for Illini West High School. The following is a list of all the events happening in Charger Athletics this week.


The week gets going Monday, September 9th, with a JV football game at home vs. Havana. That game is set to kick off at 6 PM. Also taking place at 6 PM is a JV home volleyball game against Pittsfield. Following the JV game, the varsity volleyball team will be taking on Pittsfield as well at 7 PM.


Tuesday, September 10th, is a light day, beginning with a road boys golf tournament at the boys Prairieland Conference Meet. That meet is set to start at 9 AM. The coed varsity cross country team will also be on the road to take on the Rushville Invitational. This meet will take place beginning at 4 PM.


Wednesday, September 11th, sees only one event taking place, a coed varsity golf meet against Quincy, Western and Brown County. This home meet will take place beginning at 4 PM.


Thursday, September 12th will be the heaviest day of the week for the Chargers, as it gets going with the freshman, JV and varsity volleyball teams heading to Havana for a triple header. The JV and freshman teams will both begin play at 5 PM, while varsity will hit the court at 7. The day also sees the freshman football team hit the road to play Mendon Unity at 6 PM. 


The lone event Friday, September 13th is the 3rd week of the varsity football season, a road matchup with Knoxville. This game is set to kick off at 7 PM.


Saturday, September 14th will be a busy day for Charger athletics as well, as the coed varsity golf team will be participating in the Red Rogers Memorial Invitational starting at 8 AM. The JV volleyball team will be competing in the Mendon JV Tournament that morning as well, with their play set to begin at 9:30 AM. Wrapping up the athletic week will be the varsity cross country team participating in the PORTA Invitational. That meet is set to begin at 10 AM.
